What is Proper Good?
Proper Good is a tailored package offering guidance, mentoring and financial support, to individuals who want to do good business - from those who have an idea but don’t know where to start, to those who have a fully fledged social business.
There are four participating Greater Manchester boroughs, including Stockport. If you are based outside of Stockport please visit the Proper Good Business GMCVO hub here to find support in your area.
The programme aims to support the development of stronger, more resilient and sustainable social economies.

Financing for your idea
The Proper Good Investment team offer affordable and accessible social investment aimed at small and very small social enterprises and charities that trade, including new organisations. There are three tiers of loan available.
If you refer an individual to the investment programme and they are subsequently approved, your VCFSE organisation will receive 1% of the total award for the early stage and scale up funds when the investee draws down.

This investment can be used for any costs to your business to support you to get through the early stages of business set up or initial business growth.
You can apply for a loan of up to £30,000

This investment can be used to purchase a building. We are happy to invest the full amount or partner with another lender. You can also use this investment to renovate or refurbish a building you already own.
You can apply for up to £350,000 of blended finance (90% loan and 10% grant)
