Stories of Collaboration

  • Building a profile

Leader of Stockport Women & Girls Network, Nadia Ali, attended a Green Network meeting to make new connections.

As a result, Nadia got involved with Stockport’s Greenstock festival, securing a trader spot for Community Group, Arabic Cafe.

Following their attendance at Greenstock, Arabic Cafe has since been inundated with catering briefs and opportunities.

  • Joining the dots

Already part of the Green Network, local Social Enterprise Seeding The Change joined the Food Network to make more connections.

Through the Food Network they met Chelwood Foodbank who were looking for guidance on creating a Community Garden for their customers.

This partnership resulted in Seeding the Change supporting Chelwood Foodbank in their mission to reduce food poverty by consulting on and supporting the build of a community growing garden.

  • Creating Capacity

With a known shortage of qualified Youth Workers in Stockport (and nationally), the R Time Youth Network approached Stockport College to include a Level 3 Youth Worker qualification in the college curriculm. This will go a long way to help reduce the skills gap in Youth Work.
