Stockport Economic Development and Regeneration Flexible Grant (UKSPF)

The EDRFG is part of the Government’s Integrated Settlement and replaces previous UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) local grant programmes.

The fund gives Stockport Council flexibility to invest in projects that:

  • support local economic growth

  • improve places and spaces

  • enhance cultural engagement and community participation

  • improve business productivity

The EDRFG is a mix of revenue and capital funding and is intended to support visible, time-limited projects that deliver clear outputs and outcomes for Stockport.

Organisations funded:

  • community and voluntary organisations

  • charities and social enterprises

  • cultural and creative organisations

  • other eligible not-for-profit organisations

  • organisations delivering economic or place-based activity

Amount Available:

The standard funding range is up to £25,000. For exceptional applications, bids of up to £50,000 may be considered where there's a strong case.

Applicants should only apply for the level of funding needed to deliver their project and must demonstrate good value for money. To support this, a cost and timeline breakdown is required.

Deadlines:

Check the website for the next deadline dates.

Criteria:

All applications must clearly align to one of the EDRFG outcomes. Projects that do not clearly align to an outcome cannot be funded.

Outcome 1: Improve business productivity to support local growth

Outcome 2: Develop the places needed to foster place-based economic growth

Outcome 3: Enhance cultural engagement and community participation

They’re particularly interested in projects that:

  • clearly demonstrate how activities lead to outputs and outcomes

  • engage disadvantaged communities

  • complement existing provision rather than duplicate it

  • can be delivered within the funding timescales

  • provide strong value for money

All projects must be delivered within Stockport and be fully delivered by 28 February 2027.

They will not fund:

  • grants to individuals or families

  • activities that duplicate existing services and provision or BAU

  • existing projects, unless they are being expanded or enhanced

  • activity that does not align with the EDRFG outcomes

  • ongoing or long-term costs that cannot be sustained beyond the funding period

  • projects that cannot be delivered without additional match funding that is not secured before 1 June 2026
